Checking for App updates
It's important your Aurelian app is up to date on your PCs, laptops and tablets so you are using the latest features. This is usually checked each day around 2-3am, or after a laptop is started.
To help with this, whenever you login to Aurelian it will check you have the latest update, and if not will ask if you want it done now. if you click Update now, it will then start the update process. Please note on some PCs you may see a yellow Windows message asking if Callista Aurelian can make changes to your device. Click Yes to allow this and the update will take place, or No to do this later.
Released 20 August.

Viewing Updates
You can now see what your current update is and if this is the latest update by clicking on the link at the top right of Aurelian where your login name is.
If the component is up to date it will be in green, if its not it will be in red with your current version and latest update listed.
The updates are named in YYMMDD format.

Update reminder.
The update on 20 August implemented a pop-up advising updates when logging in to Aurelian.
This would pop-up every time after a login, so this has been modified to only pop-up when an update is available that hasn't been installed on the device.
Released 24 August.

Update to Group Reservations
The last update provided a feature to edit the room rates in the Guest Details. However it was found that sometimes this could lead to the tax exclusive value for the room rate being set to zero. The tax inclusive value is correct. Switching the group reservation to tax exclusive will display if this is a problem.
This release provides a fix for this - simply open the Group Details and Save again.
Reported by Quantum Lodge, Hamilton NZ.
Released 20 August.

Fixes to July 27 update
We fixed the filtering of guests by company if you typed a guest name, but the issue remained if you clicked the search guests button and poped-up a list of guests.
- Guests are now filtered by company in the pop-up guest list if a company has already been selected in a reservation.
Thanks to thosed who reported this.. Released 2 August.

Recent fixes in late July
In case you missed the list of quick fixes in the last days of July, here they are again:
After a major internal update to the Reservation window to implement a standardised method of entering new data in the July 27 release, a number of issues were reported and fixed. These are:
- Agents couldn't be selected in a reservation. Fixed 29 July.
- Guest details and comments weren't being updated in the Guest table after they were updated in a reservation. Fixed 29 July.
- The Room Rate in a reservation wouldn't change when the Guest Type was changed. This was a display issue only as the accommodation transaction would change to the correct rate. Fixed 29 July.
- When a company is selected in a reservation the list of guests is automatically filtered by that company. This was missing in the 27 July update and reinstated in 29 July update.
- The rates for additional guests weren't being added on to new reservations as the number of adults and children were increased. This was resolved and released 30 July.

Virtual Rooms and channel managers
Channel managers don't natively support virtual rooms so unlike regular rooms where channel managers automatically adjust availability when on-line bookings are received, Aurelian must supply availability of virtual rooms specifically to them.
We implemented an enhancement to ensure channel managers are immediately advised of virtual room availability by performing an automatic availability upload to the channel manager as soon as an on-line booking is received that impacts a virtual room.
Implemented in the cloud, 8 August for both STAAH and SiteMinder.

Group Invoices and zero rated transactions
Previously in group invoices transactions with zero charges were filtered based on the charge (EXCL) value.
Because of the group issue above, this is now changed to filter by the INCL value. This will ensure that any group documents will contain the correct transactions even if the group details haven't been updated to correct this.
Released 20 August.

Additional event logging
To determine why some properties cannot login after a Windows update, additional logging has been implemented. This is recorded in the LocalServer.log and LocalDynamoEngine.log.
Released 24 August.

Passwords
This update improves passwords by removing any trailing blanks or control characters in stored passwords.
This change has shown to cause some users issues logging in until their password is replaced, but this is a one-time change.
Released 24 August.
Updated 31 August to automatically encrypt any clear text passwords avoiding the need to enter a new password.

Full resync from the cloud
It was found the full resync that should occur after a device had been turned off for more than 7 days would be skipped if the internet was not available at the time the service started. This was a particular issue for WiFi connections that were slow to connect.
Now the service will wait for an internet connection before starting the full resync.
Released 31 August.

Full channel manager availability frequency restriction
A full auto upload to the channel manager is only required as a backstop process as all changes are immediately uploaded to the channel manager. To avoid over-uploading, the frequency now has a minimum setting of 30 minutes.
Released 31 August.
